Smashing Waders But Sizing is Off 18 September 2020 | K
Right then...
First things first, they do seem like quite a good pair of waders, but I can’t say much more than that because I haven’t been out in them yet. I’m leaving a review though to help people avoid making the mistake I’ve made with the sizing.
My feet are are a size 10. Alright. Maybe a 10.5 in some shoes, maybe a 9.5 in others. I’m 6’ 1” and quite slim so I didn’t want to go with too large a size since the chest size goes up with the sock size. They turned up, they were big in the chest of course and I knew they would be, but they’ve got a belt so that’s fine. But cor blimey the socks are absolutely tiny. They started to hurt me after a few minutes and I had to take them off; my toes were all squashed up and pushing right over the edge of the rubbery base which doesn’t stretch. A friend of mine with size 8 feet then tried them on and his feet were snug in them! A good fit actually, but he said he’d certainly not order a smaller size! So going off that, I’d say order two sizes up to be safe.
The legs are a good length, which was alright for me, but my mate is a bit shorter than me and although the feet were a good fit the legs crumpled up and he wasn’t sure about that. He’s not that short though, so that’s something else watch out for.
